Anyone who thinks that Philosophy is an exclusive practice of theoretical intellectuals or of circles of people disconnected from life, will be able to see the creativity that schools of the IONA have had in responding to the calling by the UNESCO that, starting in 2002, Philosophy World Day be celebrated on the third Thursday of every November.

The variety of the more than 150 activities carried out in over 50 countries proves that Philosophy in the classical manner, that is, Philosophy as a way of life, can enrich the different forms of human endeavour. You can find Philosophy in the movies, in a Café, in the statues of wise men that line the streets of cities.

World Philosophy Day

Belgium International Philosophy Day in Brussels. Presentation- cocktail of the philosophical publications edited this year by New Acropolis Belgium.

Bolivia Presentation of the book "Giants - the True Ancestors of Man", by the Bolivian author Guillermo Lange, as part of Philosophy Week.

Canada International Philosophy Day. An afternoon of lectures on seven philosophers from the East and West. More than 50 people came to New Acropolis Montreal.

El Salvador International Philosophy Day. New Acropolis in El Salvador invited the public at two well-known shopping centers to a photography exhibition.

Germany World Philosophy Day. The New Acropolis center in Munich performed Plato's Myth of the Cave and some philosophical tales.

Honduras International Philosophy Day. The NA center of Tegucigalpa set up a stand for publications (books and reviews) on the campus of the Autonomous University of Honduras.

Honduras International Philosophy Day. The NA center of Tegucigalpa launched a "Campaign of philosophical phrases" distributed in an original way by volunteers.

India Philosophy Day in the Land of Philosophy. A lecture organized by New Acropolis in India as part of the UNESCO commemoration.

Israel International Philosophy Day. Lecture at the cinema-theatre of Tel-Aviv. Organized by New Acropolis, this lecture brought together experts of the academic world in the presence of Pierre Poulain, director of NA Israel.

Italy Celebration of Philosophy in Bra Place in the center of Verona. Organized by the NA center, in collaboration with the Verona municipality and with sponsorship from the province and the Unisco center. The public could take advantage of philosophy games, expositions and open air cinema.

Italy An animated history of philosophy. Exposition presented by New Acropolis in public libraries or at other artistic locations in Italian cities. This exposition offered an interesting and amusing vision of the history of philosophy.

Italy Street festival with philosophical information, gourmet food tasting and artisans stops. "The Street Library" offers book consultations and a philosophically themed exposition.
